Best Wine Bars in Canmore

Canmore quietly has one of the better wine bar scenes in mountain Alberta. Several of the more considered restaurants in town built their identity around the wine program first and the menu second, and a handful of newer rooms work specifically as wine led bars rather than restaurants. Most run a real by the glass happy hour that gets a decent pour into the $9 to $12 range.

Crazyweed Kitchen has the deepest list in town, run by a sommelier and built to match the wood fired menu. Tavern 1883 is the cosier wine bar option, with around 30 by the glass and a daily happy hour pour. Bridgette Bar's program leans natural and Italian, with a proper enoteca style by the glass selection. Sage Bistro at Silvertip pairs its sunset patio with a small but considered list, with the better Burgundy on by the glass. The Drunken Lobster is the wine and oysters pick, especially for sparkling. Murrieta's Bar and Grill rounds out the list with the wider, more conventional steakhouse style wine program.

About this list

How we curate

Every venue on this list is hand-picked by us. No paid placement, no auto-pulled aggregator data, just spots a Bow Valley local would actually send a friend to. Times and prices are verified against the venue's own sources at least once a month. More on how HappyMap works.
