Who we are

HappyMap is a public directory of happy hour deals operating at happymap.ca. References to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean HappyMap and its operators.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the directory and respond to you:

• Contact form submissions — your name, email, and message, used only to reply.
• Venue claim submissions — your name, email, phone (optional), and the venue you claim, used to verify ownership.
• Newsletter signups — your email address and town preferences, used only to send you the digest you opted into.
• Anonymous analytics — page views, referrer, device type, approximate location (city level). No personal identifiers.

Third parties we use

We use a small number of vendors to operate the site. Each handles your data under their own privacy policies:

• Vercel — hosting and CDN.
• Sanity — content management for venue listings.
• Mapbox — interactive maps and tile serving.
• Resend — sends transactional emails (contact replies, claim confirmations).
• Beehiiv — newsletter delivery.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous aggregated analytics.
• Google AdSense (where shown) — contextual advertising.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for analytics and theme preference (light/dark mode). You can clear or block these in your browser settings. We do not sell or rent cookie data.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you. Email via our contact form and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Venue listings

Venue information (name, address, hours, deals) is sourced from publicly available channels and may be submitted by venue owners. If you operate a venue and want a listing changed or removed, use our claim form or contact us directly.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest revision.
