Best Mountain View Restaurants in Canmore

Mountain views are easy to advertise and harder to deliver. Plenty of Canmore restaurants list views in their copy when what they actually have is a side window onto the back of another building. The list below sticks to the rooms with a proper outlook, the kind where the table you book is positioned for the Three Sisters or Mount Lawrence Grassi rather than the parking lot.

Sage Bistro at Silvertip has the best dining room view in town, a sunset facing wall of glass straight at Lawrence Grassi. The Iron Goat's tiered patio is the casual equivalent, with the Three Sisters as the headline. Tank310's brewery taproom on the south end of town has a window facing the same range. The Trough Dining Co. is the small, quiet, chef driven room with the better Three Sisters angle. The Sensory at the Malcolm Hotel sits up high enough to clear most of the surrounding rooflines. Crazyweed Kitchen is the wood fired pick if the view is a nice to have rather than the headline.

For the patio specific list, see the best patios Canmore guide. The lake Louise restaurants guide has the alpine equivalent further west.

About this list

How we curate

Every venue on this list is hand-picked by us. No paid placement, no auto-pulled aggregator data, just spots a Bow Valley local would actually send a friend to. Times and prices are verified against the venue's own sources at least once a month. More on how HappyMap works.
